Claude Frascadore is a multidisciplinary artist based in Longueuil (Quebec) whose practice sits at the intersection of musical composition, sound art, and interactive technology.
As early as the 1980s, he pioneered research into generative systems applied to artistic creation, experimenting with chance and algorithmic processes to produce innovative linguistic and musical structures. At a time when personal computers were only just beginning to emerge in the art world, he designed systems capable of automatically generating sentences, musical arrangements, and evolving soundscapes.
His work is rooted in an ongoing exploration of the connections between sonic phenomena, language structures, and technology. Through pieces that blend music, visual arts, and interactive systems, he seeks to reveal the materiality of sound alongside the perceptual dynamics that link space, light, and movement.
His current research builds upon this foundation through the development of interactive installations where human presence becomes an active catalyst for generating and transforming sound and light. This latest work naturally extends his longstanding reflection on algorithmic creation, human perception, and the immersive experience.
