Biography

Martin Messier orchestrates a dialogue between sound, light, and movement. His performances and installations, regularly recognized with awards such as the Ars Electronica Prize and the Japan Media Arts Awards, merge technology with natural elements – water, smoke, waves, and electricity – and explore the visible and invisible expression of physical phenomena.

His works often take shape as surprising machines or minimalist, even immaterial structures. These creations are presented at major international institutions including Festival TransAmériques, Trafó Budapest, MUTEK, Transmediale, Sónar, and Nemo.
